Opinion ‘totally different from authorities’ not sedition, says Supreme court docket; junks plea in opposition to Farooq Abdullah | India News

NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court on Wednesday mentioned that opinion totally different from opinion of the federal government can’t be termed “seditious.”
While listening to a PIL in opposition to J&Okay CM Farooq Abdullah for making assertion on scrapping of Article 370, the apex court docket mentioned “expression of views which is dissent and different from the opinion of the government cannot be termed seditious.”
The court docket dismissed the PIL filed in opposition to the National convention chief and imposed a high-quality of Rs 50,000 on the petitioner after he didn’t substantiate his allegation that Abdullah sought assist of China and Pakistan in opposition to India on Article 370.
