NIA conducts searches at 31 places in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana in CPM case | India News

NEW DELHI: NIA late on Wednesday carried out searches at 31 places throughout eight districts of Andhra Pradesh and 4 districts of Telangana in a case referring to furthering of actions of banned terrorist outfit CPI(Maoist) in Andhra Pradesh “in the guise of frontal organisations”.
The searches had been carried out throughout eight districts in Andhra Pradesh, particularly, Visakhapatnam, Guntur, Prakasam, Srikakulam, Kurnool, Krishna, East Godavari & Kadapa; and 4 districts of Telangana particularly Ranga Reddy, Hyderabad, Medchal-Malkajgiri and Medak. The recoveries embrace 40 cell phones, 44 SIM playing cards, 70 storage units like laborious disks, micro SD playing cards & flash playing cards, 184 CDs/DVDs, 19 pen drives, tab, audio recorder, Rs 10 lakh in money from one accused, sickles, axe and machetes, in addition to CPI (Maoist) flags in addition to an enormous variety of incriminating paperwork, handwritten letters of CPI(Maoist), social gathering literature, CPI(Maoist) press notes and so forth.
The case was initially registered as at Munchingput police station in Visakhapatnam (Rural) district and re-registered by NIA on March 7 and pertains to seizure of revolutionary literature of CPI (Maoist), press notes, medicines, wire bundles and explosives substances from accused Pangi Naganna who was intercepted by Munchingput police, Visakhapatnam Rural district in Andhra Pradesh throughout car checking. An NIA assertion mentioned the investigation revealed that Naganna had been ostensibly working as a journalist and was passing details about the police actions to the leaders of CPI(Maoist). He was additionally allegedly concerned in instigating villagers to impede combing operations of police and forestall them from getting into the villages, in addition to motivating villagers to revolt towards the police events and maintain rallies towards the federal government.
Till now, six accused individuals particularly Pangi Naganna, Anduluri Annapurna, Jangarla Koteswar Rao, Manukonda Srinivasa Rao, Rela Rajeswari and Boppudi Anjamma have been arrested within the case.
Further investigation within the case is continuous, NIA mentioned on Thursday.
