Police in Cyprus have used water cannon and tear fuel to interrupt up a protest towards corruption and lockdown measures imposed over the COVID-19 pandemic, witnesses stated.

Several hundred individuals had gathered to protest on Saturday simply past the medieval partitions of Nicosia, the capital of the east Mediterranean island.
