President Joe Biden is reportedly trying to prohibit police from receiving navy gear.
The 1033 programme permits native legislation enforcement to obtain surplus weapons and autos from the US defence division. More than $7.5bn (£5.5bn) price of kit has been transferred over time, with over 8,000 businesses enrolled.
